Libby Weaver – Creator, and Co-Developer
As an editor, Libby’s experiences have included running Scholastic plc’s magazine for primary schools, Junior Focus, as well as editing educational and children’s books. Publishing experience also includes the role of Magazine Editor and Online Content Director for Alamy.com, the stock photography marketplace. Working with Different Films, Libby has created a number of children’s characters for TV and print, including CGI TV series Top Bobby. Libby holds an honours degree in Philosophy and Literature and as an artist has exhibited at a number of galleries in the UK as well as spending time in residence in Canada. She has one daughter, Katie, 7.
Libby has a firm belief in the role of media to teach children about the world. Always keeping one foot firmly in reality, her characters are full of life and fun, providing an alternative way to learn whilst entertaining simultaneously.
Andrea Tran – Art & Animation Director
Andrea trained as an animator in Rome and Los Angeles. Moving to London in 1997 he worked on many projects as a storyboard/layout artist, designer and art director. His credits include several TV series and specials for British television, including Little Ghosts, Dennis & Gnasher and Eddy & the Bear. His directorial credits are BAFTA-winning TV series Yoko! Jakamoko! Toto!, co-directed with Tony Collingwood, and The Secret Show - double BAFTA-winning comedy action-adventure series broadcast in many countries. His latest project is Billion Dollar Bow-Wow, an animated pilot for Pesky Productions.
Andy Russell – Producer
An Oxford graduate, Andy produces, project-manages and writes and directs for TV, corporate, film and web. Industry accolades include several BAFTA, Pulcinella and Gemini Award nominations and a BAFTA win. As live-action supervisor and producer at Absolute Digital Pictures, Andy's output included the children's series Miss Spider's Sunny Patch Friends, Noddy and The Blobheads. At BBC Worldwide Andy produced, designed and project-managed interactive and licensed product for brands of children's shows as diverse as The Teletubbies, Wallace & Gromit, Bill & Ben, Yoho Ahoy and The Tweenies. Since 2007 Andy has run production company, Different Films.
Different Films – Production Company
Oxford-based Different Films is a film and TV production company. The company’s focus is the development of intellectual properties, principally through partnerships. Services include all aspects of production from concept, design, development and script through to final delivery, as required. By association with trusted partner-studios and facilities, other specialist services are provided cost-effectively including voice and music production, motion graphics, digital post, full service animation - as well as live action and documentary film-making. Different Films projects are diverse – standing out from the crowd by being different.
Rosy Whitwell - Health Consultant
Rosy holds honours degrees in both Community Health Care Nursing and Advanced Professional Practice and is both a Registered Health Visitor and a Registered General Nurse. Rosy’s extensive experience includes working as a sister on an adult and paediatric burns unit. She has three young children of her own, all currently at primary school.
Sarah Cooper - Educational Consultant
Having spent ten years working in advertising, banking and IT, here in the UK, Australia, Hong Kong, Taiwan and the USA, Sarah gained her PGCE (Postgraduate Certificate in Education) in 2000 and is now in her eleventh year teaching. Teaching children from the ages of 2 to 11, her subject specialism is English, and she also loves enthusing children with a passion for music, having taught piano for many years. Sarah took two years out in 2003 to work voluntarily with refugee children in four inner city schools, teaching English and running recorder and afterschool clubs for them. As the Educational Consultant on Nurse Diddy, Sarah believes the warm characters and entertaining episodes will appeal directly to children from a very young age, and give them the knowledge and reassurance to cope with being unwell.
